final collage

In my final collage, the revisions I made were from the recommendations of my classmates and by my own critiques from my initial design.

I really wanted to keep the design crisp and clear. I also wanted to keep the focus on the photographs and what I wanted to portray in them. As I stated in my draft collage, I really want the collage to give a feeling of freedom, exploration, adventure, and happiness. I also really wanted to give the viewer a sense and feeling of who I am and what I am passionate about.

I added in my tagline in the bottom part of the collage which I think was a very nice revision and recommendation from my classmates! I played around with a few different placements and decided that the bottom center was the most cohesive. I chose the color dark purple/pink because, I think it adds a nice balance between the colors already in the collage. At first, I tried blue and I think that it blended in too much with the other blues in the collage.

When I first added in my words in the bottom of the collage I wasn’t sure if I wanted the edges to be blended in or straight and sharp. I played around with a few different designs and decided on this final design where they are sharp and crisp because I think it compliments the shape of my collage best. When it was blended, I felt it was too “busy” and got lost within the other pictures. I think this way the font sticks out and is very clear and easy to read.

I chose to place the photographs in the places that they are in because, I really like how the colors compliment each other. I like how the top two have an earthy green in them whereas, the bottom two photographs have different shades of blue. The bottom left photograph has a pop of pink which I think compliments the color I chose for the font.

I also used the straightening tool in the bottom left photograph to make sure that the line of the ledge was straight with the white lines separating the photographs.

I’m very happy with how this collage turned out! I tried to keep the collage looking balanced and clean! I hope you can see that and like the revisions I’ve made to my collage!

draft collage

Considering my topic for my blog is me, I wanted to show a few photos of who I am, what i love, and how I like to feel! My inspiration came from my experiences from my travels and how I wanted to share that with the viewers! I absolutely love to travel and explore. The two top photos and the bottom left are all photographs from one of my favorite places, Bali, Indonesia. I wanted to portray a visual of my love for exploring and adventuring.

I started by uploading these photos individually to edit them in photoshop. I added the black&white in the middle to make the other colors pop and make it a little more interesting to look at. The bottom right photo I used the ” spot healing brush” tool to take out some imperfections in the sand. I then used the layering techniques to put them all together. Finally, I used the marquee to create rectangles and a circle in the middle. After that I uploaded the photos and cropped them into their shapes.

The photo in the center, is just me. My good friend and I went out the other day and began shooting with nothing in mind other than to get a shot of me for this collage. This photo ended up being an accident and just so happened to be my favorite. A car was passing and I looked and laughed by how silly we probably looked standing in the middle of a public place taking photos. I like that it captured me just naturally smiling, something I try to do often! It gives a more genuine visual to who I really am.

The photos showing yoga poses is something I wanted to include because, yoga is a big part of my life. I love the benefits and freedom it provides me both mentally and physically. It’s a constant challenge and there is always more to explore and practice. I think it’s a great way to reflect and compare to “real life” because, life isn’t always easy and there is always a challenging situation at hand.

The photograph in the upper right corner looks like just another pretty picture, but to me it was such a nostalgic moment. It took about 40 minutes of climbing down steep and unleveled stone stairs to get there. It’s important to add that you can’t just go at any time of day. I went in the early afternoon when the tide was low, otherwise the rocks are filled with water. If you were to walk around the left rock and climb through a small whole in the rock it opens up into this beautiful beach area that is enclosed with tall rocks, about 100 feet high! You can only stay for a brief window, because when the tide rises, you won’t be able to get out. It was such a beautiful and exhilarating experience, one I will never forget!

I loved created this collage and I hope you all enjoy it!

why are you here?

Well, I’m going to tell you. Just like most people, I have a passion but, not just one.. I have a lot. I love to read, write, dance, practice yoga, travel, drink coffee, take pictures, listen to music…. sounds pretty basic. BUT it’s me. I love being creative, really in any way. Soooo…

In my blog, I will be covering things all about my little life… yaaaa it sounds boring now but, we’re gonna have some fun. I like to think I’m a very supportive and accepting person.. I mean I get that not everyone is still in love with Justin Bieber now that he’s like old or whatever, or binge watches the Vampire Diaries 5 times over but thats okay, we’re still going to be friends! I think you might find a few other things I like to talk about to be interesting if neither of those previous topics caught your attention. (:

My little sister Mia and I love to take photos and videos, so she will probably help me capture a lot of footage for this class!

On a serious note, I have been a yoga teacher for 5 years now and it has helped me in my daily life so much. Learning how to incorporate little tips and tricks, like mindfulness or stretching for example, can benefit you more than you would think. I am a creature of anxiety…. and yes I have tried multiple times to just wash it off in the shower but, it’s here to stay. Thankfully, yoga has been my biggest helper in keeping my anxiety and stress levels low. I think I may talk about yoga and it’s benefits more in my audio recordings, so stay tuned!

You know that one girl who after high school went off and “found herself” abroad? She traveled around to 37 different countries and posted perfect instagram pictures at different cafes all around Europe and then came back home and seemed to have it all figured out? Well, that wasn’t me but, I still love to travel. I really do think it helps with personal growth, plus, seeing the world we live in is a beautiful thing. I have a few stories up my sleeve from a few of my travels from places in Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, I think you’ll enjoy hearing some of them later on! Every year we try to go on a family vacation, my family loves this little island called Captiva off the coast of Florida so I think I may do a little video of our trip for my video project!

Other than that, I think I may add in a few beauty/fashion things. I don’t really like to say I’ll give you tips and tricks because, I’m no beauty guru or wardrobe stylist, I just like getting creative. Within this same category, I’ll throw in some of my personal favorites and recommendations like: books, TV shows, music, etc.

That’s really it for now! If you’re still reading you seem really cool. Feel free to check out a few of my inspirations below! (:
